wow...posting xangas at 5AM makes me feel like dan chun...which is a good thing cause he's a stud...and i've always wanted to be a stud   i failed to mention that dave chong is also a stud...thanks to him, my wireless router is up and running...pure genius!!

**anti-sap people should stop reading here**

and now the only real reason why i'm writing at this ungodly hour of the morning is because i want to share to the whole world the fact that elizabeth mcclure is THE MOST AMAZING PERSON IN THE WORLD!!!!  after finding out that i suddenly got slammed with a ton of work...at work...(whoa...had an austin powers moment there) she devised a plan to make the 25 min. trek down from davidson to surprise me with several gifts at midnight!!  for those of you who know her, midnight is rather late since she usually wakes up before 7 and does not function well with less than 8hrs of sleep.  but she came down with some homemade snacks and the very last of her treasured harry and david pears (of which she only had two to begin with)...she also brought down little cards that i was supposed to open periodically throughout the night...errr...morning.  i was completely surprised and overwhelmed with happiness when she called me and told me she was downstairs, and when i went down...i didn't want to go back up   but it definitely made my evening/week/month!!  she's the sweetest thing!!!!

with that being said, the smarter ones out there can now deduce who i was referring to in my previous post

and now it's time for a quick nap before the office tugs on my leash again.

now that i have a new roomate, i've caved and actually have internet setup in my apartment, but i can't get my netgear wireless router and linksys network card to play nice....anyone know what to do???  so the roomate thing is new and the shocker it's a she...some people see it as sketch, but i don't really have a problem with it.  i view it as supplemental income so it's not a problem   also it's not like i'm really home enough for it to become sketch cause for the past 2 weeks since she's moved in, i've been at work till 1-2AM and she's in bed by the time i get home...so the only interaction is when i get up for work, so there's no room for sketch.  also, having a girlfriend keeps things from being sketchy too...and that's a new development that has been going very well

can somebody tell me how to use this thing?  it's been a while!  only reason i'm actually writing something now is because the Wach has finally caught on and has restricted my duke email access, thus the only way i can get my daily xanga updates is to go home and log-on after work...sad for me

new apartment:
i'm all moved into my new place!  it's starting to look pretty good, but the walls are still pretty bare.  the move-in process wasn't too bad thanks to all the help that i had from my parents and phil.  my parents were working hard painting my walls and setting things up for the new carpet to come in.  my parents did a huge amount of work for me...i don't know what i did to deserve this kind of treatment though.  but the quality of the work is another thing... i don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but the quality of work wasn't too hot....missed spots on the walls, extra splotches on the ceiling.  and then my mom always buys stuff for me that i either don't like or don't need, and she always cuts off the tags before i can give my input....it's hard to complain when they're doing all of these things because they care about me.  i guess i am ungrateful.

recruiting:
for the past few weeks i've been helping out with wachovia's analyst recruiting at duke.  it was pretty fun to be on the other side of the table...watching the candidates sweat and ask relatively uneducated questions.  it was also pretty cool to see that i actually have a say in who gets an interview because about 90% of the people i pulled for got an interview.  because of the recruiting stuff, i've been up to durham twice in about three weeks...and it actually starts getting old.  i think i've been back to duke too much but i might go back next weekend for the homecoming football game and catch a ride with liz and her sister.  but one fun thing about my last trip to durham was bubble tea at graces....although it wasn't high quality, it was great to enjoy the chewy beverage
